The City of Jacksonville launched this program to meet the needs of the community during hurricane season. Pre-registration is the key for a successful program.
Shelter Locations: Three pet friendly shelters have been identified. Those shelters are Landmark Middle School, Mandarin Middle School and Chimney Lakes Elementary School.
Species Allowed: The following animal species will be accepted into the shelters -
· Dogs
· Cats
· Rodents (such as hamsters, gerbils, etc.)
· Rabbits
· Birds
NO REPTILES WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE SHELTERS
Pet Requirements:
All pets must have proof of vaccination and registration, be properly crated or caged and be maintained by their owners. Animals may be housed in a separate room from their owners.
If you registered your pet(s) last year it is not necessary to register them again this year unless there has been a change.
3. EH Homeowner Signs
Signs, signs, everywhere are signs...In accordance with the Covenants and Restrictions the only sign allowed on homeowner property is one “For Sale” Sign with an additional flyer box. There is an approved exception: Homeowners are allowed to place on their property an “Open House” Sign only during Open House Weekend from 11:30 – 5:30 p.m. on that Saturday and Sunday.
State statutes do not allow homeowner signs at the community entrance or in the median (except for directional signs during Open House Weekend). To report any violations please contact Zoning and Illegal Sign Issues at: 630-CITY and they will have them removed. There are monetary fines that the City can impose. East Hampton’s new personal electronic key cards were activated on 1/12/09, allowing EH homeowner’s access to the Community Pool and the Tennis Courts. These cards were sent to each residence along with a green community ID bracelet in December, 2008, in preparation for the change. The new cards now replace the previous metal keys, which no longer work. All you need to do is scan the card on the Magnetic Reader System located on the gates. Once you are in the facilities, there are exit buttons located near the gates to allow easy exit without further use of your card. Also, the restroom locks have been removed, so that you can enter and exit without a key. The center pool gate near the Gazebo has been permanently sealed, leaving two gates on either side for access. The new policy approved by the Board in December requires that homeowners show “Proof of Residency” when using the amenities. This is needed to reduce the number of non-residents using the facilities, which has become an inconvenience for homeowners use. Residents can show either their ID bracelets or proper identification, and must accompany their guests.
4. Don't foget to bring your Personal Access Key Card and I.D. Bracelet!
5. Pool Rules
The following rules apply to the use of the East Hampton pool. EH residents are asked to abide by these rules for the safety and enjoyment of all who use the pool.

If you see a gate propped open, close it! You could be preventing a tragedy.
If anyone asks you to leave the gate propped open say NO!
Each home in East Hampton should have a key to the pool area AND an EH tag; bring your green wrist band and key to the pool with you; you will need the key to open the pool gate and you may be asked to show your EH wrist band and key as proof of residency.
If you do not have a key or green wrist band, contact The Continental Group in writing. Fees and restrictions may apply.
